Dr. Adam Muzychuk is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist whose passion for advancing eye care has shaped his career. After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Calgary. Driven to specialize further, he pursued advanced fellowship training in anterior segment surgery at Université de Montréal, graduating in 2016.
Dr. Muzychuk’s career is marked by his dedication to clinical excellence and innovation. He has performed over 7,000 ocular procedures, specializing in refractive lens exchange, phakic intraocular lenses (ICL), laser vision correction, and cataract surgery. As an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Calgary, he is actively involved in training the next generation of ophthalmologists, combining his academic and clinical expertise to enhance patient care.
A committed researcher, Dr. Muzychuk has contributed to studies on emerging surgical lens technologies and advancements in corneal and glaucoma treatments. His work has been published in respected journals such as Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, and JAMA Ophthalmology. He has shared his findings at international conferences, including the European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Among his many accolades, he received the Best Paper of the Session Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Annual Meeting in 2016 and the Master Teacher Award from the University of Calgary in 2020.
Dr. Muzychuk is also a proud member of several professional organizations, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Muzychuk is dedicated to improving vision outcomes and advancing ophthalmic care through teaching and research.
